Just Do It: Just a Cliché?

What motivates you to wake up in the morning?  What pushes you to be better, stronger or smarter?  What motivates you to take chances and stretch yourself?  Find what you love and JUST DO IT!

This morning I woke up and made the decision that my snooze button has been used far to often everyday lately.  The Gate River Run (15k) is 1 month away and I haven’t been putting in the training I need.  Today I change that!  Today I decided to JUST DO IT.

Day 1/30: Run 6 miles at 6AM

I LOVE Pinterest.    Whether you’re looking for motivation (see below), want to plan a party, plan a wedding, cook something, decorate something, read something or buy something, you can find ideas on Pinterest!  Follow me here.

So this morning I read a few of the motivational pins and these 2 stood out.

Your Excuse is Invalid – I am probably my worst critique.  I have to stop making excuses for why I can’t do something and just do it! So that was my thought this morning!  No snooze button for me.

I can – Tell yourself “I can __[fill in the blank]_.”  For me, I can laugh, cry, run, think, read, write, love and cook.  Not everyone can do that. No matter what your can do is, just do it.  I’m thankful for my blessings and sometimes it takes a quote like this one to remind me how thankful I really should be.

So regardless of if you think Nike’s Just Do It slogan is a cliché or not,  these 3 simple words helped get me moving this morning!

What are you thankful for?  What motivational quotes keep you going?

Happy Friday!

  1. My son keeps me motivated. I want to set a good example by being happy, healthy and active. I love the “Your Excuse Is Invalid” photo you posted- will have to refer to it from time to time. 🙂 Cheers, Amy
